My pull for July is the Daughter of Wands
She’s the spark before the fire. The permission slip to rest, to dream, to create — not from burnout, but from being deeply resourced.
And lately, that spark has also looked like early morning cardio — not so much for performance or fitness (though those are a nice side effect benefit), but for my brain.
I’ve been getting into Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain by Dr. John Ratey — a book my ADHD coach recommended.
It lays out the science of how aerobic exercise increases dopamine and norepinephrine — the same chemicals targeted by ADHD meds — and helps with focus, mood, impulse control,
and even
better sleep (especially when done earlier in the day).
